Hot Water Systems
When looking at heating the water for your home, there are a lot of factors that need to be accounted for.
The choices made can determine how much you pay for the running costs per year and if that particular system is best suited for you and your family.
TK Plumbing can offer and install the following:
Electric Storage Hot Water Systems
Mains pressure or low pressure hot water systems are some of the most common systems in our homes. TKP can remove your existing low pressure system and install a new mains pressure system within the same day to give you a great shower when you get home from work. The choice of having the new system installed externally is also an option to increase the storage space of the dwelling.
Heat Pump Hot Water Systems
With the use of heat pump units that are incorporated into the storage tanks, the running costs and are the cheapest to run each year. On average the running costs of a gas and electric hot water system is $1000 per year, the average running costs for a solar hot water system is $400 per year and the average cost of a heat pump hot water system is as low as $250 per year. With the usual installation of these units being external is also gives the added bonus of more storage for the owner.
The location of the units are mostly external and offer great capacity, allowing for the use of a growing family or the teenagers in the family you can’t get out of the shower
Hot water systems are often left to collect dust in the cupboard but like a car they all need a “warrant of fitness” each year to make sure that the systems are running as efficiently as possible cutting the running costs down and saving you money.
There are some easy checks that you can do to make sure that there is no waste of water and to give yourself some peace of mind. You can check that there are no visual leaks and by feeling the outside casing of the hot water cylinder you can check for any hot spots that may be the start of a leaking issue
There are often issues with leaks from valves that can not only cost you money from an electric use standpoint, but also with increased costs of water these things can soon spiral out of control and cost a lot of money.
If you are not comfortable checking your system yourself then TK Plumbing would be more than happy to arrange a time to check this for you
So if you notice your power bill or water bill slowly increase over a period of a few months then it might be an issue with the hot water system.
